Writers, To Their Corners

Thanks, everyone, for tolerating our week off. As Clevenger mentioned, we ran a bit of an experiment. We took a list of interesting looking fantasy oriented writing prompts, and then we went back to our own corners and wrote our own short stories based on the prompt. Each story is about the length of a standard book chapter, both clocking in at just barely over 3000 words, so they should not be too difficult to read. We hope that you enjoy them. We are post them both here, in this entry. Then on Wednesday, we will be posting our analysis on the stories: their similarities and differences, as well as what we learned from the experience. And for a bit of extra fun, see if you can identify who wrote which entry?

The writing prompt that we used was:

“The Heroes had gathered the Soul Jars together to finally destroy the Dark Lord’s link to life only to discover that they were labeled 1, 2, and 4. Years passed as they searched for the one labeled 3 with no sign. The Heroes still haven’t realized that there never was a 3.”

We have two entries: The Final Jar, and Lord Traitor. We look forward to hearing your opinions!
